Abstract:
Compilation of papers presented at the 6th Congress of OSSREA held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania under a broad theme: Globalization, Democracy, and Development in Africa: Future Prospects. The papers have been grouped into three major parts on the bases of the specific emphases in the papers, namely: Political and Socio-economic issues; Environmental Issues; Cultural, Educational and Gender Issues. The contributors believe that economic, social, cultural and political aspects of globalization in Eastern and Southern Africa need to be addressed. These would have a significant contribution in narrowing down the gap of the current understanding of globalization in general and in the context of Africa in particular.
